The colloidal particles we synthesize often in our group are: silica (either with fluorescent cores or not) and different surface coatings, PHSA stabilized PMMA spheres (either totally luorescent, or with a crosslinked fluorescent core). These syntheses are on gram scales. We also make more involved core-shell systems: eg, polystyrene or ZnS or gold cores and silica shells, or silica cores and ZnS, PMMA, or gold shells. Details in papers that can be downloaded at www.colloid.nl; we supply the knowledge how to make the particles (in our group is fine), we do not (unless within a close collaboration) supply 'only' particles 'on demand'.
